The first ever WIOA South Australian conference will take place in 2018 in Murray Bridge. This event will be held over 2 days but really is a one day conference only, and is fundamentally different to the traditional WIOA conferences held on thin the Eastern states.

Congratulations to David Cashen from Bathurst Regional Council on being awarded the 2018 NSW Operator o the year. WIOA also congratulates the other finalist James Davis from Upper Hunter Shire Council. The award was presented as part of the WIOA NSW Conference & Exhibition held in Tamworth.

WIOA is accepting registrations for the 2019 NSW conference to be held in Orange on Wednesday 3 April & Thursday 4 April 2019

Consider nominating operational employees who have excelled in the workplace for the prestigious NSW Operator of the Year award that is sponsored by the Water Directorate to recognise the important work done by operators.

This annual award goes to an outstanding operator and will be awarded at the WIOA NSW Annual Conference in April. Consider nominating an outstanding operator as the winner joins the WIOA tour group to attend the WIOG New Zealand conference.

WIOA is pleased to announced the 2018 dates for our conference and exhibitions in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

The NSW event will return to Tamworth, the Queensland event will again in Logan and the Victorian event will once again be conducted in Bendigo.

WIOA 2018 Water Operations Conference and Exhibitions

NSW in Tamworth – Wednesday 11 April & Thursday 12 April
Queensland in Logan – Wednesday 6 June & Thursday 7 June
Victoria in Bendigo – Wednesday 5 September & Thursday 6 September

All WIOA corporate members will be advised on the date that site sales will commence for these events about a week prior.

We will be making substantial changes to the application to exhibit to ensure the process is even for all our members.

Congratulations to all the award winners from the 80th WIOA Victorian Water Industry Operations Conference held in Bendigo.

Awards presented for papers and posters as well as the competitive mains tapping competition and Water taste test all contributed to another successful event with over 1400 in attendance.

Glenn Taggart from Central Highlands Water was announced as the 2017 Victorian Operator of the Year at the WIOA Awards Dinner. Glenn won the award ahead of the other finalist in David Bedggood from North East Water and Dion Bull from Gippsland Water who also are congratulated.

The Victorian Young Operator of the Year Award was taken out by Mae Jobson from Gippsland Water and the Victorian Network Operator of the Year was won by Russell Sunderland from Goulburn Valley Water. Both Mae and Russell will now join the 2018 WIOA tour of New Zealand for winning these awards.

A highlight of the event was the awarding of LIFE Membership of WIOA to Peter Tolsher – congratulations Tolsh on a well deserved recognition for your work and dedication to our association.
